Our client asked us to offer dental care on their new campus in 2011 and we have been expanding and innovating with them ever since, moving from a part-time, 3-chair mobile dental practice to a full-time, 2-chair practice to a full-time, 8-chair practice. Each of the practices has been state-of-the-art and they’ve all flowed architecturally with their campus and remained within their budget.

We've also expanded our scope of care to include panoramic imaging that enables our dentists and support teams to more quickly and completely diagnose any oral health pathology, and the latest scanning technology to enable faster and more accurate "digital impressions" for crowns and Invisalign cases.

Our Results

Our growing dental care team keeps delivering an outstanding patient experience, with patient satisfaction scores – from some of the most exacting patients anywhere – consistently above 4.5 out of 5.0.

Our biggest challenges is keeping up with our client’s growing population. We see about 25 percent of their employees, including many who haven’t seen a dentist in three years or more due to their very demanding work and commute schedules.

And because we’re an in-network PPO provider, we’ve brought many of the more than 50% who had been using out-of-network providers (and many new employees who would have) back into the in-network fold!

Mohawk is committed to helping our employees become the healthiest people in our industry. Many of our manufacturing employees did not seek dental care because their work schedules often conflicted with traditional dental office hours.

With Onsite, more of our employees are seeking dental care, and they're away from work for much less time when compared to an appointment at a dentist's office. That helps our people and Mohawk's productivity.

Many people have commented enthusiastically about the convenience of Onsite and that they now get their regular cleanings and minor procedures done before greater problems occur.

Our Relationship

In 2009, Mohawk Industries was delighted to see general health improvements from their worksite heath centers at several of their rural manufacturing plants in the Southern U.S. But oral health lagged behind, largely due to lack of access to dental care. Their 9,000 associates were spread across many worksites, making the introduction of dental care a logistical challenge which could severely impact associate engagement and Mohawk's ROI.

We engaged two of our mobile dental practices to travel to more than 20 of Mohawk’s plants. Working together with Mohawk, we created a customized, reliable schedule, delivering care to each plant one to four times per month. Mohawk encouraged its associates and dependents to take advantage of this unique new benefit. Associates were given the opportunity to schedule appointments at any Mohawk participating site while on the clock, making high quality dental care easier than ever.

Our Results

The response was overwhelmingly positive. Up to 40 percent of associates at these facilities have chosen our mobile practice as their primary dentist. Of those, about a quarter were not seeing a dentist on a regular basis prior to our engagement. We even did an emergency repair of an executive's chipped tooth on his way to the airport! Oral health has improved significantly, and fewer patients now need dental treatments. And our travelling team of committed dentists and dental care professionalshave become an integral part of Mohawk's caring culture.
