Julia Shalit

Dr. Shalit graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry with a degree Doctor of Dental Surgery. Her undergraduate field of study was at Indiana University Purdue where she earned a degree in Biology and minor in Human physiology. During her time at IUSD and prior to starting the program, Dr. Shalit participated in research studies done by Oral Health Institute on the early detection of cavities with a use of dental laser technology. Dr. Shalit completed extensive post-graduate training in cosmetic, occlusion and restorative dentistry including veneers, orthodontics and Invisalign as well as complete mouth rehabilitation procedures. She also received extensive training in use of laser dentistry and Cad/Cam technology and it's use in restorative procedures. Her training also includes gum surgery, oral surgery and implants. "I care about my patients and their oral health. No one really loves going to the dentist, so I believe part of my job is to make sure patients are very comfortable at the practice. I believe in educating people about their dental needs and overall health so if any treatment is necessary I make sure to explain and show patients the reasons why I am recommending certain procedures or treatments."
