“No one knows it, when it’s actually happening, but we never forget it when it does. I was only 15 years old when I visited the dentist’s office for the treatment of my grandma who had tooth pain, and after regular visits her tooth got better. I saw dentistry as a fusion of science and art and found that it had power of healing. My dentist’s dedication towards his work and his respect among the patients made a very favorable impression on me. I decided to become a dentist like him.”
Dr. Kumar believes takes a patient-centered approach to care, including patient education and comfort. “One of the responsibilities of a dentist is to not only provide proper treatment, but to also make the patient feel comfortable and assured. This can only happen if our office is a place where everyone is happy, smiling and cheerful.” Dr. Kumar understands that when anxious patients feel comfortable, they are more likely to take care of their teeth with routine visits. “In order for our patients to look forward to their visit, we need to develop great relationships within our own team and to be happy working with each other.”

I earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2015. I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of California in Merced. I have been practicing dentistry for 4 years.
One of my favorite aspects of dentistry is the amount of intricate detail and fine motor skills involved in bringing a tooth to health. I know that for most people, going to the dentist can be an anxiety-filled, stressful event. My goal is to provide a space of transparency and comfort to all of my patients. I strive to not only provide quality care but to provide an atmosphere of dialogue and understanding when it comes to each patient’s individual oral health.
Like most professional fields, dentistry is constantly expanding and new techniques are always being developed. I enjoy taking continuing education courses to become a better-rounded clinician and to gain more experience in the various aspects of dentistry. I am a member of the ADA and CDA.

I spend most of my free time traveling with my wife, Adriana, and our two extremely spoiled maltipoos- Coconut and Pumpkin. Our favorite place, so far, has been Iceland. When we’re not traveling, most of my time is spent being forced to give belly rubs to my two dogs (they can be very convincing), working out, reading, and exploring the vast offering of restaurants that the Bay Area has to offer.

Entering the field of dentistry was a natural choice for Dr. Lakisic. His father and brother were both dentists and introduced him to this profession of helping others. He enjoys being able to help relieve people’s pain and discomfort, as well as improve better health and esthetics.
Dr. Haris Lakisic grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but became a refugee and escaped to Southern California at the age of 15 due to war in his homeland. After finishing high school in Costa Mesa, Dr. Lakisic attended Pepperdine University for his Bachelor’s degree, then received a scholarship to attend the University of Pennsylvania for his D.M.D. degree. During his four years of dental school, he was consistently ranked in the top 10 of his class. Dr. Lakisic has been practicing Endodontics in sunny San Diego for the past 15 years.
